ForRoom Service, his first “studio” album in six years, the gravel-voiced singer took a cue from the blueprint of Jackson Browne’s “Running on Empty” album and recorded this opus in hotel rooms and backstage at various venues during his tours of Europe between 2002 and 2004. Naturally, the result has a spontaneous, rough feel to it as Adams gets back to basics and away from the tailored studio work he helped perfect in the 1990s. the final package was produced by Bob Clearmountain (Bruce Springsteen, Roxy Music and many more).
