Description
Considered by Pitchfork as the most exciting Icelandic group of recent years thanks to their second album Sports, released last year, the enigmatic trio Fufanu announced in early 2018 the release of a series of EPs throughout the ‘year. Each of these EPs is an exercise in exploring the band’s different sonic personalities: motorik, post-punk, alt-techno, avant-garde electronica… The Dialogue Series brings together these three EPs on a single disc, available on CD and vinyl. .
Back in Iceland after a long tour, the band was able to listen to the many demos written on the road – composed without worrying about any sonic coherence. Convinced by the urgency and quality of the tracks, the members contacted DJ and producer Alap Momin, who hopped on the first plane to Iceland. The result of his work on the tracks only underscored the band’s desire to separate the records into different distinct genres.
It’s a dialogue between musicians from different backgrounds, with different approaches and styles, but who keep this curiosity and this desire to work on new genres. () People always have this weird urge to categorize everything. But life isn’t just one thing or another, it’s everything that happens between these two extremes.
