There’s only one possible explanation why Ochre Room sound how they sound: Rebirth! In a former life the six members of this Finnish band must have lived somewhere in Southwest America. There must have been an old, comfortable bar where they used to spend their nights listening to an unlimited amount of Americana and Folk-Rock. Ochre Room play southern tunes mixed with a portion of northern melancholia and they don’t give two hoots about classic genre restrictions. There are hooting trumpets, jingly chimes and sometimes an electric guitar that’s getting out of hand. This epic and cinematic sound has brought Ochre Room comparisons to artists such as Ryan Adams and the Cardinals, Neil Young and The Jayhawks, and the status as one of Finland’s finest new Folk-Rock bands.
