Description
Buddy Holly is a rock ‘n roll legend. Hailed as a huge influence by Keith Richards, Paul McCartney and Eric Clapton, popular music owes a huge debt to him and his backing band the Crickets. Buddy Hollys career lasted only 18 months (1957 to 1959) before his untimely death in a plane crash (along with fellow rock’n’rollers Richie Valens and The Big Bopper) 50 years ago aged 22 on 3rd February. In this short time though, they enjoyed a string of Top 10 hits, (including “Peggy Sue”, “That’ll Be The Day” and “Oh Boy”) making them one of the most popular and enduring acts of the ’50s rock n roll era.
