Description
With a career spanning six decades and counting, legendary bass guitarist Leo Lyons, along with guitarist Alvin Lee, as part of the Jaybirds cut his teeth at Hamburgs renowned Star-Club. A first-call session player Lyons also toured throughout the 60s with bands of the day. When the Jaybirds with the addition of drummer Ric Lee and keyboard player Chic Churchill rebranded as Ten Years After they enjoyed a residency at Londons Marquee Club. Leo was also among the first rock artists to play the prestigious Newport Jazz Festival.
Lyons formed Hundred Seventy Split with Joe Gooch (guitar/ vocals) and released their debut album ‘The World Won’t Stop’ in 2010. Well received by the press and fans alike, they quickly proved they were here to make waves within the Blues Rock genre. Featuring instant classics such as ‘Poison’ and The Smoke this album is another milestone in a career of continuous achievement.
